If you close a Time Gate after completing two or three of the runs, you are not credited any Time Gate pieces. If you close a Time Gate after doing the first run (obtaining the champion), but without completing the other two runs, you get a credit of 1 Time Gate piece. If you close a Time Gate without completing any runs, you get a credit of 2 Time Gate pieces. (In fairness, that FAQ dates back to 2018.) As part of the Time Gate Rework, the number of runs was increased from 2 to 3, but the number of Time Gate pieces you can be credited remains capped at 2.
The key word here is " may." According to CNE's (pre-Rework) Time Gate FAQ:įor each reward that you were not able to collect we credit your account with a Time Gate piece when the gate closes, which is 1/6th of another Time Gate run. One big change is the Time Gate piece credit: now, if you open a Time Gate and don't obtain all the rewards, you may get Time Gate pieces back.
